In 1982, unspeakable and horrible events took place in a summer camp. Except for a single camper, everyone was murdered by an unknown individual.
The police spent days picking up the bloody body pieces left by the killer.
The only survivor: a terrified girl who lost some of her memories because of the trauma.
It's been 2 years since the massacre, and Sandy, the girl who survived that day, has decided to return to the camp in order to overcome her trauma and her fears, and recover some of her missing memories...
There are phantoms in her heart...but some of them will never go away...

Phantoms in the Camp is a retro pixel art game inspired by the horror movies from the 80's. You control Sandy, the only survivor of a summer camp  massacre that took place two years ago. She recently started college and became friends with Chris, a brave young man who is determined to help Sandy overcome her fears by going with her to the ruins of the camp.

how do i get the diary to the girl phantom

I genuinely can't remember (for a long time I didn't even remember the protagonist's name). It might probably be in one of the dorms. I'd suggest looking up a youtube playthrough, some people have made walkthroughs for this game

its very hard to beat the phantoms cuz they always find shortcuts to get me

Man this game, I have mixed feelings for it, It looks really good, the music is a hit as usual, I am a huge 80s slasher movies fan so I loved the setting and the MC was very fitting and likable, most of the puzzles are really enjoyable too, somehow it just feels a little...lacking? I think I mention this before but the "problem" with this game was mostly wasted potential, I understand it was a gamejam game and what it entails but I can't shake the feeling that something is lacking.

It is probably because of the very specific idea I made in my head for the game before playing it that I was kinda expecting a group of characters slowly getting slashed, it is a cool concept to have the game in the aftermath of the slashing but it is not as fun...

I noticed an unusual amount of typos and contradictory statements in the story of this one.

There is a thing I noticed with the long hallways that I reckon was intentional but proved to be very frustrating, specially towards the end, that labyrinth chase scene AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA; I feel I missed some tidbits of the story here and there but I feel is not very solid, it felt like only scratching the surface of what seemed to be great lore.

I still loved the monsters/enemies, the creepy chasing babies are 10/10 and the worm boss/face are on point; I loved the inclusion of the cat and the details on the parallels between worlds.

For every amazing and fun thing in this game there was one equally frustrating or a little bit lacking, this is definitely a good game it just feels a little bit incomplete? rushed? idk, I would still recommend it to anyone wanting to have a good time and I definitely hope to see more of this story or characters in the future.

Hope this review did not came out as rude, that is never my intention, maybe I am too used to such amazing experiences from your games that when a game is "just" good it feels weird haha, don't mind me too much I am just here to experience all the Dossowverse!

Keep up the good work!

Hahahahaha Moriko I should have warned you about this one!
For a long time I genuinely forgot I made this game. Heck, I couldn't even remember the name of the protagonist. The funny thing is, it seems some of the elements in this game turned out to be common tropes in my newer games.
This game deserves all criticism and I agree with all your points. If I recall correctly, I made this while recovering from a flu so I might have not been thinking clearly. Also, I'm fairly sure this was my first MZ game ever, so I was still getting used to it.
Originally, I intended to make something similar to the Friday the 13th films, i. e., a group of teens in a camp getting killed by an unstoppable killer. But for some reason I changed the idea and this became a haunted house game.
The maps and chases are definitely awful and I'm glad I've improved that in my newer games (although Pinocchio's ai was kinda bad).  But I do like the music and the main villain. Actually, Junior Hendergast and Sandy will be in A House for Alesa 3, mostly out of pity for this poor game (sometimes I feel bad for forgeting I even made it)
Anyway
Thank you so much for playing and your feedback. I'm sorry but it was quite amusing watching your frustration with this game hahaha. I've honestly considered hiding it from my profile, but it was the first time I participated in the Rpg Maker Horror jam, so I think it deserves to stay
Fun fact: this game won that jam, but it was also the only game submitted hahahahahah

By the way, if you plan to play Automagoria (which is also my favorite game of the ones I made and the one I value the most since it was the first game I ever published/uploaded/finished), keep in mind that it's a side scroller rpg maker game that tries to be an action game, so the controls might feel a bit janky. Also, the doll boss is doable, and staying under the stair can make the fight easier

If I have a fanart where could I upload it for you to look at it

101%? What's that mean?:)

Also did I understand right - in bad ending Junior comes to material world?

(+1)

101 was a bug hahaha, it was supposed to be 100%

To be honest, I don't remember much about this game, but yeah, I think Junior managed to materialize himself in the real world

This is such a great game! I beat it 96% and got the good ending. What specific '80s horror movies inspired this? I wanna watch them!

(+2)

Thank you! Some of the main inspirations were Friday the 13th part 3 and part 7, Phantasm (this one's actually from '79), A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Shining.

Thanks! :D

where do i go after i get the third piece, i cant get out the room because of the counselor killing me or the door is locked. Great game btw i really enjoy story

Hello!

In order to defeat the camp director after getting the third stone piece, you need a cat. There's a cave near the main cabin (the biggest house) and there's a cat inside who will join you.

Thank you so much for playing!

I'm really enjoying the game and story, but after unlocking the counselor's room I can't get out of the Main Cabin without an enemy spawning at the door. Is there some way to progress that I'm missing?

Never mind, it just took a couple more tries :) Great game!

Thank you so much!

Actually, that encounter is random. Sometimes, that enemy doesn't spawn at all.

This made me scared that I jumped out of my chair lol (Also, good game!)

Thank you so much! : )

*There are some spelling/grammar errors I overlooked. I'll probably fix them after the jam ends.

Very well written game and nice puzzle crafting, I manage to get both endings.
There is one thing I like to comment is that the game has unnecessary long hallways, is that intentional?
Btw I can't believe I went to all dead end during the chase scene before finding the right one lol.
Either way , It's a very fun game and I love to see more from you soon!

Wow amazing video! Didn't expect the voice acting haha!
Great job on getting both endings!
The long hallways are intentional as I wanted them to feel "dreamlike/nightmarish" or something like that.
Thank you so much for playing!

I'm happy to play the game! do lmk when you dropped a new game
